Coaching provides a safe environment for seeking different attacks to new or ambitious state of affairss ( Robinson-Walker. Detmer. and Schultz. 2011 ) . I would bespeak to hold tiffin with Ms. W and at this tiffin. I begin by praising her work and stressing her importance to this clinic. In a blithe and non-confrontational manner. I say. â€Å"I know how difficult you have been working with Ms. R and you must be so defeated! † I encourage a response by inquiring. â€Å"Why do you believe she is being non-compliant? † I listen to her responses without disrupting and work into the conversation these inquiries: â€Å"Do you think it’s possible she does non understand English? In add-on to the Nursing Code of Ethics. the National Council of State Boards of Nursing ( NCSBN ) states that one of the criterions related to the RN range of pattern is that nurses evaluate the patient’s response to nursing attention. They do this by measuring: the patient’s response to intercessions. the demand for alternate intercessions. the demand to confer with with other squad members. and the demand to revise the program of attention ( NCSBN. 2012 ) . It discusses utilizing nursing judgement and interpersonal relationships during the deputation procedure and at the classs end. the writer speaks about how to develop deputation accomplishments. Learning to decently depute finally improves the quality of patient attention. B3. Delegation Opportunities The nurse in this scenario has 4 co-workers in the clinic that she can depute to: the LVN. nurse. dietician. and societal worker. Ms. R had perennial urinary piece of land infections ; the dietician can reexamine her nutrient and fluid consumption and the LVN can learn antenatal attention based on the nutritionist’s rating and recommendations. The nurse in the clinic can research community resources that may be available to help Ms. R. The societal worker. nevertheless. is the most of import individual in these coactions because it is likely that Ms. R does non understand English and needs an translator. The societal worker is fluid in Spanish and her presence will non merely raise the comfort degree of Ms. W. but will guarantee that she is having the needed information that is pertinent to her gestation. The Thunder of Hooves and the essays

The Thunder of Hooves and the essays The Thunder of Hooves and the Thrill of the Race: Technology and the Horseracing Industry There is quite possibly nothing more thrilling than standing at the rail of Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky as a field of thoroughbreds comes charging around the turn; unless it is standing at the rail holding a ticket on the horse bearing down on the leader. This experience affects all six senses simultaneously. The eyes focus on the colorful silks, ears strain to hear the announcers call over the roar of thundering hooves and screams of the crowd. The aroma of the surrounding racetrack swirl fills the nostrils and the palms of the hands begin to sweat holding the pari-mutuel ticket. All this excitement joins together as the horses cross the wire in the midst of a cheering crowd. Whether the race is the Kentucky Derby or simply the first of a horse's career, everyone becomes involved in the suspense and excitement. When buying a ticket and betting on a horse, people become part of the whole scene that makes thoroughbred racing the thrilling sport and spectacle it is. Technology played a role in the thrill and excitement of horse racing from its infancy. Throughout the development of the sport, various technologies assisted in the delivery of the experience, particularly in the realm of wagering that has been a part of racing from its inception. Technology's role continues to influence racing as the industry adopts the latest measuring and computing methods to increase the interest of the public and make the sport more accessible to larger segments of the public. This is seen most recently with the advent of electronic wagering systems that provide people in remote locations the opportunity to participate immediately in wagering on races from many different venues. This paper will review briefly the history of Thoroughbred racing and the role technology has played in the past, what current technologies are employed in the...

A’ Minimum Of Two’ A Short Story

A Minimum Of Two A Short Story â€Å"Minimum of two† is a collection of short stories written by Australian writer Tim Winton. He writes his stories in different views such as first and third person, mainly for the reader to feel the story more in depth. The book features 14 short stories which are; Forest Winter, No Memory Comes, Gravity, The Water was Dark and it went forever down, Nislam’s Friend, Minimum of two, Distant Lands, Laps, Bay of Angels, The strong one. Holding, More, Death belongs to the dead his father told him and sadness to the sad and finally Blood and water. Throughout all of these stories there is relevant trauma for past events, coming to an outcome of growth in either a positive or negative way. The short story that in my opinion is the most powerful in regards to trauma and growth is the story â€Å"Minimum of two†. It’s written in first person view of the husband (Neil). This is a deep story about a married woman called Greta getting raped by a senior in her de partment by the name of Fred Blakey. He is taken to court by Greta and Neil and is sentenced to 5 years imprisonment but for Neil this is not enough because he went through ample suffering through the recovery of Greta in the way that she did not want to be intimate with him because she was sensitive as expected after being raped. With this issue, Neil decides to take matters in his own hands and contemplates killing Blakey when he gets released, he tells his friend Tony Mitchell that he will be doing this. Mitchell doesn’t agree with what Neil wants to do, but Neil doesn’t listen to him and ends up killing Blakey when he got out. His conscience then catches up with him and he then feels like the most horrible person, saying that he feels that he was a â€Å"dead man†. The main trauma in this story is the rape of Greta by Fred Blakey, this is mainly trauma from Greta as she becomes sensitive and doesn’t get intimate with Neil, this is also a traumatic for him, and this is shown in the way he writes about his feelings. It seems like her intimacy with him is a great thing for him making this story traumatic for both Neil and Greta. In the ending Neil kills Blakey and comes to a negative growth of feeling sorry for himself, as well as losing his best friend Tony Mitchell. The next story that showed trauma and growth is the story called â€Å"Distant Lands†. It’s written in the third person view. This short story is about an overweight woman working at her father’s newsagency. This woman is called â€Å"Fat Maz† she was teased and tormented through high school and also was not supported very well by her parents, they also treated her as if they didn’t know her or that she wasn’t their daughter. There was a day though that changed her life, a stranger Pakistani man comes into the newsagency, and opens the book â€Å"Distant Lands† has a glance and leaves. As she goes to inspect the book sh e realises the blurb saying â€Å"You will want this book never to finish†after she reads the blurb she is interested in reading the book, as she is reading it the Pakistani man comes into the newsagency once again and this time re-opening â€Å"Distant Lands† and smiling at Fat Maz, he gives her money and some confidence to leave her garbage job helping at her father’s newsagency

Medline Search Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Medline Search - Essay Example The ‘Medline’ database was studied with directed and pointed queries in the main search box for terms related with the clinical question. The first query was made using a rather obvious sentence ‘improving functional status in adult asthmatics’ but it yielded no results. The search was repeated using a more targeted collection of terms ‘asthma control in adults’ which yielded some very good results. The primary papers shortlisted in this search which were somewhat relevant with the clinical question included papers on medical adherence amongst adult asthmatics residing in two inner city clinics, the beliefs of patients as well as physicians about asthma control and risks involved. Another search was conducted on the same website using ‘asthma self care’ as the key words. This yielded a number of hits and two papers talked about the impact of education on asthma patients, adults as well as children. Out of these, one was found to be highly relevant to the clinical question and is summarized below. Yet another search with the key words ‘asthma medication’ yielded quite good results and another paper was selected for discussion and summarization. In total 10 relevant studies were obtained in this search. The two selected studies had high relevance with the clinical question due to their focus on the impact of education on patient adherence with medication for asthma and are therefore summarized below: 1. A descriptive and correlative study tried to examine the impact of education, knowledge and patient characteristics on emergency visits to the hospital which can yield some fair knowledge about the clinical question (Emtner et al, 2009). In a year long study, 84 asthma patients and 52 COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) patients were interviewed on phone 4 to 6 weeks after an emergency room (ER) visit and followed up for one year to study the impact

How increased unemployment is playing a role on the increasing poverty Essay

How increased unemployment is playing a role on the increasing poverty levels - Essay Example For instance, the level of unemployment in China is 4.3 % while that of Japan is at 4.5%, nevertheless the unemployment rate of these countries does not remain constant; it keeps changing with time (trading economics, 2011). Below is a graph indicating the difference in levels of poverty among countries. Fig 1: 2011 unemployment rates of different countries. Needless to say, there are a number of reasons that cause unemployment in the world. First, some individuals lack the required skills and knowledge to tackle tasks, hence hindering their chances of acquiring a job. Secondly, the welfare payments and unemployment insurance are believed to contribute to the increasing levels of unemployment. The unemployed continue benefiting from these governments’ assisted programs, hence becoming reluctant to search for jobs. This paper will discuss the issue of unemployment, its impact to the society in causing poverty, and the possible solutions at length. Major impact of unemployment t o society The Increasing levels of unemployment are continuously contributing to the level of poverty among nations, which negatively affects the economy and the society of these nations as well. There are various types of unemployment. Cyclical unemployment is one of them, which is influenced by the business cycle, for example, the higher the growth of domestic product, the lower the levels of unemployment, and vice versa (Hartley, 2010, p.29). Structural unemployment involves launching new products in the market, therefore changing the demand of certain goods. In return, unemployment rate in certain sectors increases, whilst jobs are created in other sectors. According to Kim (2010, p.57), one third of the world’s... Unemployment as an Economic Problem Unemployment can be defined as the number of people in a nation without jobs, including those that are seeking for employment (OECD, 2003, p.32). Unemployment is a problem that affects many countries, to an extent of reducing productivity and loss of income opportunity. When the level of unemployment is high, the growth domestic product is lower compared to when the levels of unemployment are low. On the other hand, when the growth of domestic product is low, the levels of unemployment increase, the living standards of individuals are reduced, and the nation’s productivity decreases. Unemployment also contributes to loss of human capital, as the unemployed individuals do not contribute their skills and knowledge to the workforce. Moreover, unemployment does not only contribute to poverty, but it also reduces the levels of consumption and the ability of purchasing, and as a result, slowing down the potential of the market. Nevertheless, unemployment levels differ among different countries, taking different forms; however, the developing nations are highly affected by the unemployment issue compared to the advanced economies (OECD, 2003, p.32). For instance, the level of unemployment in China is 4.3 % while that of Japan is at 4.5%, nevertheless the unemployment rate of these countries does not remain constant; it keeps changing with time (trading economics, 2011). Below is a graph indicating the difference in levels of poverty among countries. Needless to say, poverty increases as the level of unemployment increases; this is evident since the unemployed have no source of income, making them to struggle in providing basics needs for their families.

On the Ageing Population Essay Example for Free

On the Ageing Population Essay With the development of the advanced society, increasingly numbers of nations are facing the ageing problem. The aging population, the fraction of the population aged 65 and over exceeds 8-10%, has been universally recognized as one of the worldwide social issues in 21 century. We are ageing—not just as individuals or communities but as a world. In 2006, almost 500 million people worldwide were 65 and older. By 2030, that total is projected to increase to 1 billion—1 in every 8 of the earth’s inhabitants. Usually, the ageing problem would happen in the developed countries, however, some developing countries are facing the same problem as well. China, as the biggest developing nation, is facing serious ageing problem. According to 2010 census, China has already become an aging society, with 177.648 million elderly over 60 years old, about 13 percent of the total population. Depending on the report released by CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Science), the age of 65 in China will overtake that of Japan in 2030, which will make the world’s most aged society. Unfortunately, China is the only country with more than 100 million people aged over 60 in the world and the countrys economy is not well prepared for a rapidly expanding aging population. In such situation, China faces more difficulties than any other nations. Chinese current pension system, medical care system and social service sectors cannot meet the demands of all senior citizens. As we all know, in the past three decades, China created a miracle thanks to the largest cheep labor force in the world, which had contributed nearly 27 percent to Chinese economic growth. Nowadays, because of the increasing life expectancy and low birth rate (one child policy), the demographic dividend is gradually disappearing. According to statistics, compared with 2000, the scale of young Chinese labor force aged from 20 to 29 has already reduced about 15% in 2010, which will affect Chinese economy, as the number of potential workers, especially from rural areas, will shrink. Chinese government as well as the outside is worrying about that China will slow or even stop the developing pace on account of the shrink of labor force, since Chinese economy benefits a lot from the demographic dividend. How can we solve this problem effectively has been attached great importance by Chinese government. The Setting In the late 1970s, China has carried out one-child policy to control the population growth. With the launch of the one-child policy, Vice Premier Chen Muhua expressed his fear: â€Å"Young people under 30 years of age account for about 65 percent of the total population, or around 630 million. Some have already reached the age of fertility, and the majority of the remainder will do so within the next 10 to 20 years or so. If population growth is not controlled, it will reach a high peak, making it virtually impossible for the economy and our social institutions to cope with.† In that circumstance, China has put one-child policy into practice until now. There’s no doubt that one-child policy has played a role in contributing, along with urbanization, to a reduced rate of population expansion and the temporary creation of a population with a dependency ratio lower than it otherwise would have been. However, one-child policy as well brings some problems to our society. For instance, currently, China is undergoing a family restructuring process. The former pyramid shape is being replaced by an inverse pyramid. The typical Chinese family today can be classified as 4-2-1. 4 represents the parents and parents-in-law, 2 represents the husband and wife, and the 1 refers to the only child of the couple. And the center of the family is on the 1— the grandchild. The form of 4-2-1 family leads to the condition that the 2 have to prepare for both the older and the younger generations. To the 2, they have to take care of their parents and child both on material and immaterial life. At present, the 4-2-1 family structure is emerging and will replace the previous family structure in China. Moreover, the middle 2 have to shoulder all the responsibilities of their families. Besides, because Chinese current pension system, medical care system and social service sectors cannot meet the dem ands of all senior citizens, the children of these aged people have to shoulder more responsibilities. Policy Initiatives Based on the problem of ageing population, Chinese government has already launched a new policy to relieve the shortage of labor force market. If the couple matches certain conditions, they can have two babies. Here listed some conditions. Both parties are only child in their respective family; Their only child is diagnosed of having a non-genetic disease and unable to grow up to be a normal laborer; Either party is infertile but the wife becomes pregnant after having adopted a child legally; Remarried couples with the total number of children from previous marriages not exceeding one and so on. Furthermore, relaxing the requirements on emigration application can attract more immigrants to relieve the lack of labor force. Taking Canada as an example, Canada needs to attract hundreds of thousands of skilled workers from abroad to make up a labor shortfall. Since the 1990s, the federal immigration program has targeted people who have the experience and training that are in demand, incl uding medical doctors, nurses, cooks, electricians, welders and other professionals. It is also a good idea for Chinese government to attract some skilled immigrants. Although ageing population challenges a certain nation’s pension system, medical care system, social service and economy, it is not always about negative effects. From the bright sight, the occurrence of the ageing problem is a good opportunity for China to switch from a labor-intensive country to a technology-intensive country. Actually, ageing population itself is not horrible; the key point is how to respond it wisely. If the government can handle this problem effectively, ageing can also become a moment for the Chinese society to promote economy and realize the economic transition. Chinese government can not only be satisfied with the current situation â€Å"World Factory†, instead, it is time for us to transit to a technology-intensive country. Taking Finland as an example, Finland started its industrialization very late, in the early 20th century; Finland was stuck in the structural crisis of its leading industries forest industry, iron and steel, shipbuilding, textile and clothing. But, Finland used that chance and realized the transition successfully. Nowadays, although Finland is facing the ageing problem, it is still on the top list of worldwide competitiveness because of its pillar industry electronics. The well-known mobile phone brand – Nokia is the best proof of the successful transition of Finland’s economy. Finland people are proud of their advanced technology and eager to innovate. Compared with Finland people, Chinese people like to plagiarize and copy others’ ideas and products rather than innovate by ourselves. Copying and manufacturing blindly can not make us profit a lot to promote the economy and compete with other nations. There’s no doubt that such kind of countries lack the competitiveness in the world and the prospects for development. As we all know, the price of iphone 4 is from $499 to $699, but the cost of an iphone 4 is only about $188 or even less. The Apple Inc. let some developing countries to manufacture these components of iphone 4 and pay the workers less money, since the labor force in developing countries is very cheap. Though China benefits a lot from the cheap labor force, the wages of Chinese workers often do not follow international standards. As we can see that the one who master the core technology can earn more money, while the one who just copies and manufactures can only get a little money. Therefore, the lacking of labor force urges China to switch from a labor-intensive country to a technology-intensive country. In that case, China will be able to achieve more balanced and sustained growth in the future. In addition, since the aged, purely a group of consumers who have many demands can bring a lot of opportunities. Due to the unique background of China, the industries related to the aged will have bright prospects, such as health care industry, entertainment industry, tourist industry and etc. The consuming on account of filial piety can contribute a lot to China’s economy. Conclusion With the development of the advanced society, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. And the emergence of ageing population will cause repercussions on the labor market, economic growth potential, public finances and other fields. At present, the ageing population is going to become a mass phenomenon in the near future, which will not only change the economy system, but also shake the base of society as such. To China, answering ageing problem correctly is of great urgency. Encouraging couples to have the second child and relaxing the requirements on emigration application to attract more immigrants to relieve the shortage of labor force are both the solutions to the ageing problem of China. Additionally, China can not be satisfied with gaining benefits through manufacturing products all the time. It’s time to do the economic transition with the wealth which we gained from the demographic dividend. Chinese government can invest much money to develop the technology, which will acquire better economic profits and development prospect. In that case, China will be able to achieve more balanced and sustained growth in the future. Although China has not well prepared for the ageing population, China can regard it as an opportunity to realize the transition of economy. What’s more, we should not treat the aged as a burden or a threat to our society. On the contrary, the industries which are related with the aged will be the emerging industries in the future. If Chinese government can solve the ageing problem effectively, the chances offered by ageing population can be used to their full extent, which will bring more opportunities to China.

Arrowsmith Essay -- essays research papers

Arrowsmith is a classic American novel written by Sinclair Lewis. Lewis wrote this book in the early 1900’s as a current outlook on the world of science in that time. The main theme it focuses on is commercialism and its effect on science. During this time period there were many advances in the field of medicine; everyone was racing to find the cure to deadly diseases and then patent it and profit off it. Helping humanity was more of a business than a service to the human race as doctors and institutes became more and more capitalistic. Like a business trying to maximize its profit, many doctors and scientists cut corners and guessed at many things so they could get their products or methods on the market as fast as possible. However, there were a few scientists who stayed strictly devoted to their science, not letting money, glory, and success corrupt them. Scientists such as this despised commercialism and held contempt against the other doctors and scientists who fell into that system of capitalism. The book follows the life of Martin Arrowsmith, a scientist who is torn between pure science and commercialism. He wants to be a true scientist but he is pushed into commercialism by everyone he meets, except for a select few. Among the few is Max Gottlieb, who is Martin’s model for everything a true scientist should be. Gottlieb is a bacteriologist who is completely against the capitalist values of commercial doctors and scientists; he devotes himself religiously to his science, and he believes in being completely thorough and not guessing or accepting things without completely understanding them. Terry Wickett, a disciple of Gottlieb’s, holds all the same values and attitudes as Gottlieb toward capitalism and commercialism. He helps Martin break away from commercialism, and become a true scientist. Another person who greatly helps Martin in his life is his first wife, Leora Tozer, who stands by and supports Martin no matter what. She devotes herself to Martin as much as Gottlieb devotes himself to his science. She supports him in whatever decision he decides to make, she helps and comforts him in his times of need, and she remains completely loyal to him at all times, even when he is not completely loyal to her. The story starts with Martin Arrowsmith as a medical student at Winnemac University, where he was first introduced to commercial science and pure s... ...from the Plague. What is ironic about this is that this pure science tends to benefit humanity more than commercialism science in the long run. The notion that one significant improvement over a long period of time is better than a series of failures and half-successes is drowned out by the propaganda of commercialism. Pure science produces methods and medicines that are certain. They have been thoroughly tested and proved to be successful, as opposed to the medicines produced by commercial scientists. While they produce more, they are not certain as to what effect they will have. They hope that if their product works in one situation, it will work in every situation. However, commercial science does have positive points as pure science has negative points. While pure science is more certain it is also much more long term. Commercial science gives immediate care and help, despite how much it may actually help. Pure science is presented as something that looks toward and works for the future, while commercial science deals with what is happening at the moment, but commercialism hinders pure science so much that, in effect, it may be bringing about the destruction of its own future.

Planning – Sandwich Blitz

– Strategic Planning: According to Bateman & Snell â€Å"Typical strategic goals include growing, increasing market share, improving profitability† (2010, Page 77), which means that Dalman and Lei need to set a long term goals and achieve them for example if they would like to expand they need to set their expansion based on meeting a certain percent of their profit after 4 years of achieving this profit or higher.Implement annual training for their middle management to improve their managerial performances and productivity that includes but not limited to budgeting, decision making, profits, staff turnover†¦ etc. Introduce and implement a key performance indicator in the company to review the performance of the middle management, and the rest of the staff to know the strength and weaknesses and work on it. Tactical Planning: â€Å"Tactical plans focus on the major actions a unit must take to fulfill its part of the strategic plan† (Bateman and Snell, 2010, Page, 78) Location managers need to develop a sales and marketing plan that can help the business for the next 3 years and pitch it to top management for approval to help increase the profits based on their locations, targeting audience. Also they need to implement training for their team supervisors that includes customer service and up selling their products and promoting them, location managers can also set bonuses for their team supervisors if they achieve their sales target.Location managers need to deal with their budgets and meet them by developing an annual budget. – Operational Planning: Team supervisors need to introduce new products and new methods of selling these products but at the same time maintaining the food consistency in their shops, keep track of daily issues such as refunds and replacements any other issues with customer care to help them improve. Also hire more staff or cut down the overhead when needed, train the staff on dealing with customer service.

Time Bank

Time bank is a unique organisation that holds vast amount of knowledge and skills belonging to its customer. The way time bank operates is by allowing individuals to exchange their knowledge, skills with others. The concept of the Time Bank is based on the fact that people are all individually different, we all have different types of knowledge and we all have different set of skills, no one is good at everything, the typical situation is that we only have the capacity to be good at certain things and not all things. In a world without Time Bank, we have to pay for things we can’t do, for example I am not an expert with computers, if my computer breaks down then I would have to pay for someone to fix it. However, with the existence of Time Bank, I can exchange a skill which I am good at for someone else’s help with the repair of my computer. To illustrate this example more specifically, If a member of the Time Bank has spent two hours repairing my computer then that pers on would have banked two hours worth of time with the Bank, in another word, that person will have two hours worth of credit. When that person needs help with something he has difficulty with, he is entitled to two hours free help from another individual. So individuals can build up their credit by helping others with things that they are good at. This way, people can save time and money in dealing with difficult tasks. It is clear that Time Bank offers a service that many needs, but no such provider exists in the current market in Colchester. However, as Time Bank is such a new concept promotion of the Bank is vital. Effective promotional method needs to be used to introduce people to this new concept.I shall look into these methods in the rest of this essay, but before doing so, it is important to assess who would use Time Bank, i. e. its target audience. 2. Target Audience: One of the key reason that people will want to use Time Bank will be because that they can save money, from this it follows that Time Bank is unlikely to attract very wealthy individuals. Further, it is likely that only people who can offer knowledge or skill in return will use the Bank, this will mean that the younger and older groups are probably excluded from the target audience, as they are likely to be limited with the help they can offer. So, main target group of Time Bank is likely to be working individuals and possibly students. So, we have to have this in mind when selecting the promotion methods for the Bank. 3. Advertising: Placing adverts on local newspapers, radios and internet, magazines and possibly on television may be a good way to build the awareness of the Bank’s presence. Yellow pages is another idea, however, with the expansion of the internet Yellow pages is not as much used by people as before. So, instead, it may be a better idea to place advert on the internet, for example, Yell Colchester. With newspapers and radios it will be a good idea to place the advert on popular Colchester local papers and local radio stations such as BBC Essex and Heart Essex. In terms of magazines, if possible, it would be a good idea to select magazines that our target audience is most likely to read, something like magazines advising on money matters or D. I. Y. magazines (as it is likely that people who are interested in D. I. Y will find it more enjoyable to exchange their skills and bank their time with the Time Bank). Putting up adverts on the internet is also a good idea, an excellent website to place advert is www. sk. com, as people who go on to ask. com will normally be in the need for some kind of help, so an advert on this website will capture some of our key audiences. It may be a better idea to take advantage of free advertising, such as placing adverts on Gumtree Colchester. Putting up posters in University campus may also be a good idea, students are likely to be a key user of the Time Bank, the reason being that students do not earn any income as a result they are likely to prefer to save money by using the Time Bank.Sponsoring a University newsletter or website is another idea to build awareness in the student market, the sponsorship will enable Time Bank’s logo to appear and be seen by students. In terms of working individuals, it may be a good idea to put up posters in job searching agencies such as Reed, or paying for an advertising space on job searching websites. Distributing leaflets is another possible idea, we could position few leaflet distributors on busy locations in Colchester, such as city centre during busy times such as weekends. 4. Publicity:Publicity is a great way to promote the Time Bank, as most publicity can be done for free and more details of the Time Bank can be exposed compared to the advertising option. Writing articles on topic related to the Time Bank: The Time Bank can write an article relating to saving time and money and try to place it on to publications that our target audience mi ght read, as mentioned before, magazine relating to money matters or D. I. Y. magazines are possible options. To target students it may be a good idea to write articles for school newsletters. However, the problem that we may encounter with this promotion method is that there is no guarantee that the article we write will be accepted and published by our preferred magazines. So, to enhance the chance of our article being published it is a good idea to provide a well written article. Magazines, tends to have a long lead time, writing articles for internet magazines might be a better option, as there are higher demand for articles with internet magazines. Newspaper is another source we can supply our articles to.Newspapers have a much shorter lead time than magazines and they are often looking for materials. So, it may be a good idea looking to writing an article to local Colchester newspapers. Press releases: Sending out press releases to local newspapers is another effective promotio nal tool. However, the press release must be newsworthy in order for it to be published by local newspapers. The fact that there is no other organisation that is providing the same type of service as the Time Bank will make the press release newsworthy. Online Forums:Posting message on online forums is a cost effective way of promotion. There will be tons of D. I. Y forums, money savings forums, student forums etc on the net, posting messages or answering queries posted by other people will promote the Time Bank. When answering queries, we can post a link of the time bank’s website or/ and explain the workings of the Time Bank in the process of answering. www. Ask. com is another great internet place to get free advertising; free advertising can be gained by answering queries posted by people on the Q & A page.Try to get an interview slot on local radio shows: It will be ideal is a interview slot can be secured on either Heart Essex or BBC Essex, as these two stations are quite popular stations it will mean that they will reach out to a wide rage of audience. An interview discussing the how the Time Bank works will not only give Time Bank free advertising but also can enable people a better understanding of what Time Ban is and how it works. And this is important due to the fact that the Time Bank is such a new concept. 5. Conclusion – evaluation of the promotional methods:In the above sections I have discussed many possible promotional methods for the Time Bank. Each method have its pros and cons; advertising on the television, radio, newspapers, internet and magazines are an effective way of reaching a wide audience and is a good way of building brand awareness of Time Bank. But, such way of advertising can be costly. It was mentioned that it is possible to get free advertising from certain websites such as Gumtree Colchester, it is suggested that free advertising offered by websites should be taken full advantage of.I then looked into ways of promotion by gaining free publicity on magazines, local newspapers, local radios and internets. I think that emphasis should be placed on these types of promotion, the reason being that such methods are cost effective and it will enable people to get a better understanding of the Time Bank. Time Bank, being a new thing in the market will mean that careful explanations on the concept and workings will be needed for people to fully understand. With the advertising methods, only limited information can be displayed, but with publicity much more detail can be introduced. So, the best way to promote in my view is to select a few paid advertising methods that can target our key audiences, such as putting a paid advert on ask. com and on yell. Colchester and take advantage of free online advertising as much as possible to build Time Bank’s brand awareness. A big part of the promotion should be based on publicity, efforts should be devoted to try to get articles and press releases published in relevant magazines, and newspapers etc and get interview slots on popular local radio stations such as Heat Essex and BBC Essex.

Purpose of the Product Essay Example

Purpose of the Product Essay Example Purpose of the Product Essay Purpose of the Product Essay Shearer 1 didnt sell very well, but Paul Porter claimed this wasnt the purpose of that particular product. What was the purpose of the product? It was meant to get the community to recognize that Kodak really knows what Its doing when It comes to digital technology. Kodak pays close attention to the market place and what Is happening wealth social trends. They research consumer needs, technology needs and business needs through a series of social Interactions with consumers. This may include designers and business research personnel going out to the public to do interviewing with consumers or developing focus group programs or ethnographic research to identify what those consumer needs are. Through this information of fine details, the designers begin to develop relative design solutions to exactly what the consumer said along with trouble shooting or hypothetically guessing as to where the trend of product designs will lead, thus making technology needs more applicable within short time frames and structuring new ideas that perhaps the consumer hadnt thought of yet. This in turn supplies the needs of the market irately because It provides a cutting edge on the marketable technology and It always puts Kodak one step ahead of the competition. By Identifying consumer wants and needs, Kodak Is able to show the community exactly what was stated In beginning; that they know what thieve doing when It comes to digital technology because they have built a business strategy to do so. Thats the real purpose of this product. 2. What kind of new product was Shearer 1? The Shearer 1 was a new novelty/innovative product (digital camera) designed to test the strengths and weakness of the technological market, to see what consumers anted in a digital camera and what they didnt. It was a simple compact, point and shoot camera that held a 10 mega pixel, optical zoom lens. The camera actually has the option of a dual lens: a zoom lens in a very small package, and the other was a wide angle lens for wide photography. It is also Wi-If capable for uploading photos to mainstream over the Internet. It takes solid Images, especially outdoors, with Its excellent 3-lunch touch-screen LCD navigational display In the back of the camera that offers 16 scene modes for digital Imaging. It can store up to 1,500 Images and had a NUMB of internal memory support. But the whole hype about the camera was centered on Wi-If capability, but to Kodak, this was just an experimental process to see where this kind of technology would lead. The digital dynamics was another test factor, to see if consumers would be kept engaged to the product and its unique detailing, like moving or transparent imagery. What the main focus for Kodak would be is to get the right product out to the right consumer, and such a diversity of consumers always demands a diversity of products for those consumers. . Discuss the product development process at Kodak. Since it Is critical to constantly update and upgrade your product in the market place, the product development process Is a highly competitive process at Kodak. The first agenda would be focused around design and usability because of the fact that It Is a powerful marketing tool. Industrial designers are designated to make the product look good or appealing and consumer friendly so as to catch the attention of the workflow simple on their device that they are designing. Because they simplify the genealogical aspects of the product, this promotes the concept that Kodak products are easier to use above any other competition. Then the user interaction designer works specifically with internal electronic design, thus they make the product more exciting. The next and final step would fall into the graphic designers hands. They are predominately responsible for doing graphics or pictures for packaging; again, an attempt to catch the consumers attention by looking upon a box or display. Then the product goes out to market and data analyzing is conducted monthly to view revenue for their new product.

Even though my parents and grandparents are always cautious of new technologies, after they are taught how to use them, they like the ability to constantly be in contact with the ones they love. The best to describe the role of the Prosecutor in the Courthouse is through the given definition of Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct in Rule 3. (a). It states that, â€Å"The duty of a public prosecutor or other government lawyer is to seek justice, not merely to convict.† To clear from common misconception, prosecutors are not performing the tasks of lawyers.
